LAUREN E. BURKE
is a partner with the Toxic Tort Litigation Department in the firm’s Philadelphia office. Ms. Burke focuses her practice in products liability, toxic torts, personal injury, motor vehicle liability, and insurance defense cases, representing corporate and governmental entities in both state and federal courts. Ms. Burke has successfully defended clients in some of the most active and difficult jurisdictions in Pennsylvania – defending our clients in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. She is skilled in all stages of litigation, including preparation of initial pleadings, responding to discovery requests, conducting depositions, drafting and arguing pre-trial and trial motions, setting trial strategy, and negotiating settlements. Ms. Burke has conducted hundreds of depositions and regularly takes “defense lead” on behalf of our clients. She coordinates with general counsel and national counsel in the management of asbestos-related cases. Ms. Burke recently obtained a favorable result as first-chair defense counsel in the representation of a city mass transit carrier at trial in Philadelphia.
Ms. Burke received her B.S. in Political Science, with a minor in English and a concentration in Women’s Studies, Magna Cum Laude
, from the University of Scranton. She was an active member of the Honor’s Program and Pre-Law Society. Ms. Burke received her J.D. from the New England School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts, where she was a member of the Women’s Law Caucus. Ms. Burke interned for the General Counsel Office of the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, as well as a civil litigation defense firm in Boston, MA.
