CHARITY C. HYDE is a partner in the firm’s Philadelphia office. She specializes in product liability, insurer bad faith, toxic torts, general liability, premises liability, SIU, commercial transportation, motor vehicle liability and uninsured and underinsured motorist cases. She has tried many liability actions before Philadelphia County juries and has obtained favorable results. She has also arbitrated numerous uninsured and underinsured motorist actions with success and has been able to counsel her clients about potential problems and issues. She is licensed to practice in the State and Federal Courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Charity is also licensed to practice in the District of Columbia.

Charity received her J.D. from the Widener University School of Law, where she was on the Dean’s Honor List, Law Review, and the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law. She was a member of Phi Delta Phi, the international legal fraternity. Before law school, she attended Drexel University, receiving a B.S. in Communications.

Charity clerked for the Honorable Arnold L. New of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. She was also a legal intern in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

After graduation, she joined the law offices of Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg where she handled an extensive civil litigation caseload concentrating in motor vehicle liability defense, uninsured and underinsured motorist defense, insurer bad faith, insurance fraud, general liability, and premises liability matters.

In March 2004, Charity joined the law offices of Wagenfeld Levine as a partner and was named Environmental and Civil Group Practice Leader for the firm’s nationwide clientele. She led a multi-attorney team which represented large manufacturing clients, retailers and their insurers in toxic tort litigation in several states.

Charity is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. She has had several articles published, including “The Effect of an Insured’s Voluntary Intoxication on the Applicability of an International Act Exclusion in a Liability Insurance Policy” in COUNTERPOINT, and “Recent Developments in Food-Related Product Liability Law” in Strategies for Defending Food Litigations.
