JOHN A. WETZEL, a partner in the West Chester Regional Office, specializes in bankruptcy, wills, trusts, and estate planning and administration. He has a certificate from Temple University School of Law Graduate Tax Program in Estate Planning. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.

Mr. Wetzel graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He earned his J.D. from Widener University School of Law and is now a member of Widener University School of Law Board of Overseers, and was the past president of the Widener University School of Law Alumni Association. In 1991, Widener presented him with the Outstanding Alumni Award.

Mr. Wetzel is a member of the Chester County, Philadelphia and New York State Bar Associations. He is also a member of the Philadelphia Estate Planning Counsel, the Chester County Estate Planning Counsel, American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Commercial Law League of America. He is a board member of the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project.

He has lectured on Business Law and Consumer Bankruptcy Practice and Procedure. He is also an adjunct professor at Widener University School of Law, teaching Corporate Reorganization Chapter 11.

He has represented clients in the Enron and Adelphia bankruptcy cases, as well as clients in the U.S. Bankruptcy courts in Michigan, Indiana, New Jersey and Texas.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1965.

Mr. Wetzel was named a Super Lawyer in 2006 and 2007 by Philadelphia Magazine.
