MICHAEL J. LaPORTE joined the firm’s Orlando Office in April, 2006. He practices general insurance defense, specializing in automobile liability, personal injury protection, and medical malpractice. He has represented some of the State’s largest insurance carriers, including Allstate, Progressive, and Nationwide, as well as Adventist Health System—Central Florida’s largest hospital and health care network. Mr. LaPorte has also been certified by the Courts of Orange County and Seminole County, FL, as an expert on the law of attorney’s fees and costs entitlement and valuation.

Mr. LaPorte was born in Denver, Colorado, but he grew up in Orlando, Florida. He attended the University of Central Florida in Orlando, where he graduated magna cum laude in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He was also a member of Lamda Chi Alpha fraternity. He went on to the University of Florida, earning his juris doctor in 1997.

Mr. LaPorte is a member of the Orange County and Florida Bar Associations. He is married to Kimberly Roberson LaPorte.
