MICHAEL P. LEAHEY joined Swartz Campbell as an associate in 2005. Mike’s practice is primarily devoted to general civil litigation with an emphasis on toxic tort defense. He has successfully represented defendants in both silica and asbestos lawsuits.

Mike’s practice also includes estate and business planning. Mike advises his clients as to estate, gift, generation skipping and federal tax savings techniques. Mike drafts estate and business succession plans to maximize the wealth transfer by optimizing the tax savings.

Prior to joining Swartz Campbell, Mike worked for the Honorable Ronald W. Folino in the Civil Litigation Section of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. During that time, Mike assisted Judge Folino in numerous jury and non-jury trials.

Mike obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree from Allegheny College in Biology with an emphasis of Neurophysiology. After leaving college Mike worked for several years in medical sales. He received his law degree from Duquesne University School of Law where he served as a research editor for the Duquesne University Law Review.

Mike is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
