PERRY J. FIORAVANTI, a partner in the Philadelphia office, specializes in the defense of class actions, toxic torts, bad faith claims, and other related complex litigation matters. He assesses overall litigation impact and exposure and coordinates a strategic approach to defense in state and federal courts. He also values, negotiates and administers class action settlements and evaluates and responds to corresponding regulatory compliance and coverage issues.

Mr. Fioravanti began his legal career at Swartz Campbell LLC as an associate litigating first and third party motor vehicle and coverage cases. In 2000, he rejoined Swartz Campbell, after over nine years as corporate counsel for property/casualty insurance companies, directing litigation and insurance regulation and compliance. Among other positions, Mr. Fioravanti served as Assistant Vice President and Associate General Counsel of the General Accident Insurance Group, and later joined Reliance Insurance Company as Assistant General Counsel. At these large multi-line property and casualty insurers, he focused his practice on legal counsel and support for overall corporate and insurance operations. He directed and managed corporate litigation, employment litigation, class action suits, high exposure claims and reinsurance disputes.

Mr. Fioravanti has been actively involved in such diverse matters as company licensing, commercial insurance product development, rate and form filings, insurance department inquiries, and bad faith and coverage litigation. He has also negotiated and drafted agency and brokerage agreements, reinsurance treaties, claims and loss control agreements, and corresponding insurance and self insurance programs.

Mr. Fioravanti graduated magna cum laude from Villanova University in 1981 with a B.S. in Marketing and earned his J.D. from the Villanova University School of Law in 1986. He is admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar and is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations.

Mr. Fioravanti has served as a member of the Laws Committee of the National Association of Independent Insurers, the Property and Casualty Steering Committee of the Insurance Federation of Pennsylvania, and as an alternate member of the Board of Directors of the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud.
