ROBERT M. SMOLEN joined Swartz Campbell LLC in 1994 as an associate in the Mount Laurel, New Jersey office where he established the firm’s New Jersey Workers’ Compensation department. In 2003, he was elevated to Partner. I n addition to workers' compensation, Mr. Smolen specializes in all aspects of insurance defense where he has extensive trial and appellate experience handling toxic tort, motor vehicle, products liability, construction defect, premises liability, insurance coverage and legal malpractice defense cases in all of New Jersey’s twenty counties.
Mr. Smolen is admitted to both the Bars of the State of New Jersey and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In addition, he is admitted to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey. He is a member of the Philadelphia and Camden County Bar Associations.
Mr. Smolen earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1989. He graduated from the Temple University School of Law in 1992 where he served on the Environmental Law Review. During law school, Mr. Smolen was awarded the distinction of Distinguished Classroom Performance for his performance in Trial Advocacy.
On a personal note, Mr. Smolen is married and is the father of two small children. He resides with his family in Narberth, PA.
