WILLIAM T. SALZER is a partner and director of the labor and employment group in the Philadelphia office. Occasionally, he handles insurance defense litigation. In particular, he writes coverage opinions for insurance carriers. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and is admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Western and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania. His clients include Weyerhaeuser Paper Company, Ford Electronics & Refrigeration Corporation, Jefferson-Smurfit, Aldan Rubber Company, National Foam, Inc. and Harleysville Mutual Insurance Company.
Mr. Salzer obtained his Bachelor of Arts, with high distinction, from the University of Virginia in 1980. He majored in Government and Foreign Affairs. He graduated from Rutgers University School of Law in 1984. Thereafter, he worked with the United States Department of Labor.
Mr. Salzer is a member of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations. He is also a member of the Labor Law Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association. He has written extensively on the topic, including "Applicant Screening, How Far Can You Go?" and "When Can You Terminate Employees on Worker’s Compensation." Both articles were written for the Council on Education in Management.
Mr. Salzer was named a Super Lawyer in 2006 by Philadelphia Magazine.
