Steven M. Brady, the managing shareholder for Florida for Swartz Campbell LLC in Florida, participated in, and attended, the Insurance Bad Faith and Extra-Contractual Claims Symposium sponsored by the DRI – the Defense Research Institute. This took place on June 18-19, 2009, in Boston, Massachusetts. The DRI is recognized internationally as one of the premiere defense litigation bar organizations in the world.

The symposium covered a number of important developing areas of insurance bad faith, claims handling, and extra-contractual damages law, including the following: Does the right of insurance companies to be wrong still exist?; the current status of institutional bad faith; winning the discovery battles and wars relating to institutional bad faith; the defense of punitive damages claims; cutting-edge issues in bad faith litigation; tactical considerations for exercising the right and terminating duty to defend by insurance companies; resolving cases with multiple claimants and/or multiple insureds and inadequate limits; bad faith case forum and law choices; mediating bad faith claims; bad faith setup situations and traps; managing disputes between excess and primary carriers; applying professional ethics and professionalism in bad faith litigation.

Mr. Brady handles good faith/bad and insurance claims handling faith cases throughout the State of Florida and in other states.
