Commercial and Financial Litigation
 
     
 

    The Commercial Group concentrates its practice in representing clients in the handling of commercial litigation matters including creditors' rights, loan workouts, bankruptcy and reorganization.  The Commercial Group strives to obtain expeditious and cost effective results which will best achieve our client's business goals.  The members of the Commercial Group have represented the entire panoply of bankruptcy and loan workout participants including secured lenders, trustees, creditors' committees and debtors-in-possession.  In addition, we also represent a diverse group of litigants in commercial litigation matters pending in both state and federal courts including partners, shareholders, insurance companies, factors, merchants of goods and leasing companies.  Furthermore, the Commercial Group is able to provide representation in a variety of injunctive proceedings such as reclamation actions to protect collateral and actions to enforce restrictive covenants concerning employment and/or competition.

    Additionally, the attorneys in the Commercial Group are ideally situated to provide assistance and support to the Professional Liability Group in the defense of accounting and legal malpractice matters arising from commercial transactions.

    In addition to our active participation in bankruptcy and reorganization matters both regionally and nationally, our representation covers a broad spectrum of other commercial/financial related matters including the representation of financial institutions and borrowers in commercial loan transactions.  Several of the attorneys in the Commercial Group concentrate their practice in the areas of commercial collections and enforcement of judgments.  Our wide variety of client representations enables us to understand the vantage point of all sides of a case and facilitates the adopting of successful litigation strategies founded both in common sense and practical business experience.

    The Commercial Group's attorneys regularly serve and participate as lecturers and authors on commercially related topics for various bar associations and other professional organizations.

    Attorneys from the Commercial Group regularly appear before all of the Bankruptcy Judges in the region and have served as Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 Operating Trustees appointed by the Court and/or the Office of the United States Trustee.
