Estate Planning and Administration

The Estate and Trust Administration Group is dedicated to effective lifetime and estate planning to protect family assets, reduce taxes and facilitate economic estate administration.  This group works closely with financial planners, advisors, insurance agents, and accountants concerning the personal and business financial planning needs of our clients.  Wills and trust agreements are prepared to insure that each estate will be distributed in accordance with our client's objectives.  Recognizing that those objectives may be in conflict with the tax laws, we work to minimize tax impact.

As the needs of clients and their families change, our attorneys draft Durable Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, Health Care Powers of Attorney and review long term health care contracts.  We also provide guidance in matters of medical care decision making, medical and governmental benefits program, and long term care insurance.

Our attorneys counsel estate executors in the probating of wills, in preparing federal estate tax, state inheritance tax and fiduciary income tax returns.  We also represent executors in audits of both federal and state tax returns.  We assist trustees in income tax planning, trust administration and court accountings.
