REBECCA PROSPER is an Associate with the firm’s Product Liability Group.
Prior to joining Swartz Campbell, Rebecca served as an Assistant City Solicitor in the Civil Rights Unit for the City of Philadelphia. During her tenure with the City, Ms. Prosper handled hundreds of cases as lead attorney handling all aspects of the litigation including, but not limited to, developing case strategy, conducting discovery and motions practice, and settlement negotiations. Ms. Prosper has tried twelve (12) cases to verdict in state and federal court. Ms. Prosper also litigated many cases to final disposition before arbitration panels. In addition to appearing before arbitration panels, Ms. Prosper has served as an arbitrator, adjudicating cases in personal injury, premises liability, and motor vehicle accidents.
Following her time with the Philadelphia Law Department, Ms. Prosper worked as an associate specializing in insurance recovery litigation and premises liability defense where she prepared pleadings and motions, and conducted depositions and written discovery.
Ms. Prosper was nominated and selected to participate in Drexel University’s Leading for Change Fellowship 2017-2018 Cohort in recognition of her leadership ability. The program involved identifying and providing possible solutions to challenges facing the City of Philadelphia. During the yearlong practicum, Ms. Prosper worked cooperatively with other budding leaders in city government to develop strategies to address the challenges identified in a cost- and socially-conscience manner.
Ms. Prosper graduated from Penn State University where she earned her B.S. in Crime, Law, and Justice with a minor in African and African American Studies. Ms. Prosper received her J.D. from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law where she served as Treasurer for the Black Law Student’s Association and a teaching assistant for the Integrated Trial Advocacy Program (ITAP).
Ms. Prosper is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia.
